Description
The job of an Occupational Therapist is to help patients learn new ways of doing things, regain skills and develop new ones, use materials or equipment that makes life easier, and adapt their environment to work better for them. A variety of health issues can pose barriers to participating in daily activities. Occupational Therapy treatment is meant to help the patient return to normal daily activities with minimized pain and full range of motion. Progressive Rehab occupational therapists are health care professionals that help our patients resume or maintain participation in a variety of tasks – their jobs, leisure and social activities, getting around, caring for themselves and their home, and more. Our occupational therapists work together with our physiotherapists; physiotherapists help the patient restore physical function while occupational therapists focus on how that function affects the patient’s ability to do the things that are important to them.
