How the Invisalign Procedure Works We schedule your consultation appointment with an Invisalign-trained doctor. The orthodontist will examine your teeth thoroughly. This way we determine whether Invisalign is the appropriate treatment for your dental and oral health. Our Mississauga dentists check the current and detailed record of your teeth through X-rays that help craft a customized digital teeth model for your retainer. This impression of your teeth helps to conclude the movement of your teeth during treatment. We will send your records directly to Invisalign to create a set of your custom Invisalign retainer or unique aligners. You have to change your retainers every 1 to 2 weeks, as prescribed by us. Trays must be worn for at minimum 22 hours a day or it will delay your treatment and results. However, they can be removed while eating or drinking as well as when brushing or flossing your teeth.
