Tumbling - A sport that involves exercises intended to display strength, power, and agility. Tumbler - A gymnast that moves like an acrobat performing stunts. Tumbling, sometimes referred to as Power Tumbling, is a gymnastics discipline in which participants perform a series of acrobatic skills down a 25 metres long, 1.5 meters wide sprung track. Each series, known as a pass, comprises eight elements in which the athlete jumps, twists, and flips placing only their hands and feet on the track. Tumblers are judged on the difficulty and form of their routine - which includes speed, height, and tempo. We are proud to say that Futures Tumbling Program is 20 years young. Throughout its history, we have had the privilege to work with some amazing coaches, athletes, and parents. Our program encompasses all levels of competitive Tumbling from Invitational to National. Our Invitational Level athletes start at the age of 4 years old, they are introduced to spacial awareness, the ability to understand and apply corrections and a competition environment. They Showcase their skills at the age of 5 and can compete in Invitational Competitions (usually 3) at the age of 8. Our Provincial Level athlete is a person of great dedication and love for the sport. Tumbling as well as the Provincial Levels is not for everyone, but it is for those that are willing to work hard and dedicate their time to do what is described by many as flying. In this Level the athletes have the opportunity to participate in Provincial Qualifiers, Provincial Championships, and Eastern Canadian Championships. Tumbling at a National Level is quite remarkable. It is from this level that International and Canadian Team tumblers are selected, representing their county at a competition, what an accomplishment! This Level will take the athlete to Provincial Qualifiers, Invitational Competitions, National Events, International Competitions, World Age Group Championships and World Games.
